Boss Katana 50 Or 100
With the 100 watt being only just a little bigger than the.
Boss katana 50 or 100. I only have the 100 and have never played the 50. Five original amp characters honed for rock playing. Both feature 1 x 12 inch speaker although the 100w speaker is upgraded. The 50 has 2 presets which you can toggle between.
Both are light weight and pack a lot of dsp into tiny packages. The models on review here are the 100 watt head and 1x12 combo and while they share most of the same features the head differs by having a midi jack. The 100 has a line out and 4 presets you can use a separate footswitch to access these presets plus turn effects on and off. If you are using the g3 you mot need this feature as much.
The 100w is quiet enough to play at bedroom level on the 0 5 setting. Sharpened to perfection by the boss engineering team the katana 100 s five amp characters offer everything from organic vintage tones to modern high gain sounds. I think that the cab while still fairly small is bigger on the 100w too. Recently introduced in 50 and 100 watt combos and heads the new katana series amps from boss are highly affordable and loaded with features.
I ve not tried the 50 but the 100 on 50watt mode is plenty loud. Clean is natural and transparent while crunch offers satisfying grit and response.
